PUBLIC NOTICE NO: NO. 99/2001

Sub: Simplification of Procedural formalities in respect of 100% EOU's/STPI/EHTP's units - Reg.

1. Attention of the Trade is invited to the provision of this Commissionerate's Public Notice N0.32/96 dated 26/03/1996.

2. As a measure of trade facilitation for all 100% EOUs / EHTPs / STPs. It has been decided to further simplify the procedures with respect to grant of permission for Sub-Contracting/Job Work, third party Export and Inter-Unit transfers effected by 100% EOUs / EHTPs / STPs units under the provisions of Notification No.53/97 Cus. dated 03/06/97, Notification No.138/91 Cus. dated 22/10/91, Notification No.96/93 Cus. dated 02/03/93 and Notification No.140/91 Cus. dated 22/10/91.

3. Hitherto, the said units were approaching the Deputy Commissioner / Asst. Commissioner for grant of permission separately in each case. With effect from 01/10/2001, all units working under the provisions of the aforesaid Notifications and seeking permission for sub-contracting / Job work, third party Exports and Inter-unit transfers can approach the Deputy Commissioner / Asst. Commissioner, Customs Division in the Commissionerate for a one time permission for all removals for a period of 1 year. Thereafter, on a case basis, the unit shall approach the jurisdictional range Superintendent for necessary procedural formalities prescribed in the aforesaid Public Notice. The application for the permission under the aforesaid relaxation shall be made in the enclosed format, in duplicate, through the jurisdictional range Superintendent.

4. Trade Association are requested to bring the contents of the Public Notice to the knowledge of their constituent members and others concerned.
